Hi I’m Joanna and I am a published songwriter living in Sligo, Ireland.

 

My musical journey began with growing up listening to my Dad sing and play songs on his guitar and listening to his country music record collection of Dolly Parton, John Denver and Johnny Cash.

I began piano lessons at age 10 and achieved Grade 8 level with honours from the Leinster Academy of Music. I was also a member of the school orchestra at the Ursuline College, Sligo.

 

I studied music at the South East Technological University, Waterford (formerly known as Waterford Institute of Technology), and graduated with a bachelors of music honours degree. Here I studied musical composition with Dr. Eric Sweeney.

 

For many years I operated a school of music from my home, preparing local children for Royal Irish Academy of Music exams.

 

I recently retired from teaching music to embark on a new journey as a commercial songwriter. I have songs signed to Irelands largest independent music publishers, Bardis Music, Dublin.

 

I love music and writing songs. I am especially passionate about country music.
